Today was a meh day for me. It wasn’t the best, but could have been worse.
I did my usual routine – got dressed, had breakfast whilst getting the kids ready for school. I drove into work and as I walked into reception, my office manager greeted me with “you look lovely.”
It perked me up instantly and I smiled. Suddenly I felt like I could get through the day. Sometimes kindness, however it’s shown, can really help make someone’s day better. Taking time to stop and observe instead of heads down on devices – like waiting for someone to cross the road or just offering a smile – can make all the difference.
Many will think it’s a confidence issue, but I disagree. Sometimes day-to-day chores and worries add mental strain, and positive affirmations just don’t cut it. A sleepless night, kids playing up, or financial worries can take their toll.
We’re not ChatGPT – we’re humans with emotions like in the film Inside Out. Sometimes we’re happy, sad, or emotional, and that’s okay.

Next time you’re having a good day, spread your positivity to others. Compliment someone if you like what you see, smile, open the door for someone, or just be kind – because your actions can help someone have a better day.
xx
